Founded in 2020, Obsolete Goods was created by Alex Gower of Longmont, Colorado.

As the General Manager of a historic motel in Boulder, Colorado for six years from 2015 to 2021, Alex developed a passion for repairing antique furniture and upholstery on the property. Initially, this was a cost-saving measure for the motel, but it quickly became a hobby and a calling for him.

In 2019, Alex started the @MisterGower Instagram account to showcase the various projects he was working on as a hobby. As the page gained popularity and his skills improved, Obsolete Goods Vintage was officially established in the spring of 2020.

As demand for commission work increased and OG Vintage grew, Alex left his job as a motel operator in the fall of 2021 to focus his full attention on Obsolete Goods Vintage.

Our ethos is to use traditional tools and techniques to restore vintage furniture, electronics and decor to their former glory. We specialize in Scandinavian, Mid-Century Modern, Bohemian, and American Arts and Crafts styles.
